Job summary

Roche Bros. Supermarkets is seeking a Produce Associate to process and stock quality merchandise on shelves and displays with care, keeping areas neat and customer friendly.

The role requires good English, basic computer skills, and availability to work across store locations within Massachusetts. Responsibilities include stocking, pricing, assisting customers, and maintaining sanitation and safety in a cold, indoor environment.

Responsibilities

• Greet, assist and thank customers promptly and courteously.
• Commit to the customer-first approach and work with associates as a team.
• Differentiate between produce types by taste, prep method, and price.
• Suggest suitable product options to customers.
• Stock and display items with proper grading, rotation (FIFO), trimming, wrapping, and sanitation per policy.
• Ensure displays are filled and prices are accurate.
• Assist in receiving checks and verify department deliveries when needed.
• Receive, unload, and store daily deliveries to maintain product quality.
• Follow store rules, policies, and shift hours as directed by the produce manager.
• Adhere to local, state, and federal health regulations and dress code.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation in the department, following the Cleaner’s Creed.
• Process merchandise per production guidelines and manage damaged goods per policy.
• Keep back room, cooler, freezer, and displays organized and monitor temperatures; report refrigeration issues.
• Maintain a safe, clean work area and report hazards to management.
• Practice safe lifting and handling of products and equipment.
• Occasional calls to assist at the front end during busy times.
• Restock supplies efficiently to minimize waste and control costs.
• Report associate theft, shoplifting, or improper markdowns to management.
• Complete onboarding/e-learnings within 30 days of hire.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
