Job summary

Qualifications

• Current food handlers permit once employed

• Create an environment that makes customers feel welcome and valued by answering questions about products
• Know products and respond to questions with suggestions
• Assist with produce platters/trays preparation
• Inform customers of produce specials
• Recommend items to meet customer needs
• Prepare, package, label and inventory merchandise
• Review and inspect products for quality and freshness; take action when needed
• Label, stock and inventory department merchandise
• Report ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager
• Display a positive attitude and stay current with ads
• Ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers and maintain logs
• Reinforce safety procedures and identify unsafe conditions
• Perform preventive maintenance and report repairs
• Notify management of accidents or safety risks
• Report theft or fraud to store management
• Work cooperatively in high paced and sometimes stressful environments
• Manage conflicts professionally and respectfully
• Maintain honesty and integrity in customer/business information
• Follow directions and seek assistance to resolve issues
