Job summary

Cosentino is seeking a Produce Department Supervisor to oversee daily operations, ensure product freshness, and deliver excellent customer service in our Kansas City store.

You will report to the Produce Manager, enforce safety and sanitation guidelines, supervise team members, manage inventory, and promote seasonal items while maintaining strong teamwork and a positive store environment.

Qualifications

• A food handling permit must be obtained within the first 14 days of employment.
• A minimum of 1 year of previous experience in retail produce experience is required.
• Completion of ongoing training and development as listed on the Cosentino Learning Plan.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct supervision of the Produce team in the absence of the Produce Manager and Assistant Manager.
• Promote a positive team atmosphere with cooperation, high morale, and strong communication.
• Support coaching, corrective actions, and performance evaluations.
• Resolve customer complaints professionally and involve store management when needed.
• Know and implement Cosentino Customer Service Standards.
• Manage inventory processes including counting, tracking, planning, and ordering.
• Promote new items and weekly specials through merchandising and displays.
• Ensure knowledge of department products, procedures and policies to answer customer questions.
• Meet or exceed productivity standards for team and individual results.
• Inspect product for freshness, damage, and dates; rotate as required.
• Remove damaged or unsellable product and handle damage claims.
• Label or price merchandise and obtain price signs when necessary.
• Operate and maintain equipment safely and competently.
• Comply with health regulations, sanitation guidelines, and safety procedures.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area for customers and coworkers.
• Demonstrate strong verbal and interpersonal skills for customer and peer interactions.
• Demonstrate basic math and reading skills.
