Job summary

Qualifications

• Extensive knowledge of produce including production, distribution, seasonal availability, trends.
• Willingness to learn about products, nutrition information, and related areas.
• Familiarity with merchandising expectations for produce sections.
• Desire to grow with the Produce team and educate others.

Responsibilities

• Purchases and replenishes produce using proper buying procedures.
• Monitors open PO reports for purchases and credits; acts timely.
• Controls spoilage and shrink; participates in inventory.
• Completes spoilage, temperature, and sweep worksheets as required.
• Maximizes sales through proper stocking and merchandising procedures.
• Ensures orders are timely and accurate to monitor inventory turns.
• Oversees customer special order procedures.
• Analyzes product transfers, waste, and spoilage; supports inventories.
• Maintains profitability by meeting purchasing and sales targets.
• Arrives on time, groomed and ready; attends shifts and trainings.
• Provides excellent customer service and uses suggestive selling; answers phones.
• Preps, stores, rotates, stocks, and merchandises products efficiently.
• Follows procedures including health, sanitation, and safety practices.
• Maintains clean, sanitary environment; keeps equipment in safe condition.
• Performs opening, mid, and closing duties; checks pricing accuracy.
• Reports safety hazards and violations immediately.
• Performs other duties as assigned by leadership.
