Job summary

Topco Associates is seeking a Category Specialist to join our Produce Team in Itasca, IL. This hybrid role combines office days in Itasca with remote work, three days onsite and two days virtual each week.

You will coordinate purchasing and category operations, manage orders, vendor documentation, pricing updates, and provide outstanding service to members, suppliers, and carriers while building hands-on procurement experience in grocery retail.

Qualifications

• Required: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Approximately one year of experience in customer service, administrative support, order processing, retail, or related field.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to process information accurately.
• Effective written and verbal communication with members, suppliers, carriers, and colleagues.
• Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple priorities.
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word.
• Willingness to learn new systems and processes.

Responsibilities

• Process and manage purchase orders accurately with suppliers, members, and carriers.
• Coordinate item setup and maintenance of product information and documentation.
• Process pricing updates and promotional information in business systems.
• Support inventory and product availability coordination.
• Maintain accurate purchasing and category information for reporting.
• Provide day-to-day operational support to Category Managers and team members.
