Job Description

Provide leadership support and direction during primetime hours (3p-7p M-F; 11a-7p Sat/Sun) to drive sales and enhance the customer experience. Partner with the store leader and department leader to develop a high-performance culture where associates are aligned with the business strategy and receive the necessary training to deliver a consistently great experience for Every Customer, Every Time. Demonstrate the company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety.

Responsibilities
  1. Promote trust and respect among associates, communicate effectively, and foster a positive attitude.
  2. Establish department performance goals and empower associates to meet or exceed targets through teamwork.
  3. Ensure timely completion of orders, work backstock, rotate products, and replenish throughout the day.
  4. Train and develop associates, participate in performance appraisals.
  5. Create a welcoming environment for customers, answer questions, make suggestions, and locate products.
  6. Inform customers of produce specials and offer samples to promote discovery of new items.
  7. Maintain merchandising standards, review product quality and freshness, and take appropriate actions.
  8. Create and execute sales promotions in partnership with store management.
  9. Educate associates about current and upcoming in-store promotions.
  10. Ensure in-stock behaviors are followed daily.
  11. Implement promotional plans and ensure product freshness and display cleanliness.
  12. Maintain cleanliness and organization in backroom and prep areas, following 5S practices.
  13. Ensure proper closing procedures for morning readiness.
  14. Plan and organize inventory processes, maintain awareness of stock conditions, and train associates on inventory and CAO.
  15. Maintain proper temperatures in cases and coolers, and keep logs.
  16. Reinforce safety programs, identify unsafe conditions, and report safety risks or incidents.
  17. Adhere to laws, regulations, and company policies.
  18. Perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
Qualifications
Minimum
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written).
  • Ability to handle stressful situations.
  • Basic math skills (counting, addition, subtraction).
Desired
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Experience in produce or retail.
  • Management experience.
  • Second language skills (speaking, reading, and/or writing).
