Provide leadership support and direction during primetime hours (3p-7p M-F; 11a-7p Sat/Sun) to drive sales and enhance the customer experience. Partner with the store leader and department leader to develop a high-performance culture where associates are aligned to the business strategy and receive the knowledge and training needed to deliver a consistently great experience for Every Customer, Every Time. Demonstrate the company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety.
Responsibilities
- Promote trust and respect among associates, with a positive attitude; communicate company, department, and job-specific information to associates
- Establish department performance goals and empower associates to meet or exceed targets through teamwork
- Ensure timely completion of orders, work on backstock, rotate products, and replenish throughout the day
- Train and develop associates on their job performance and participate in performance appraisals
- Create an environment that makes customers feel welcome, important, and appreciated by answering questions, making suggestions, and locating products
- Inform customers of produce specials and offer samples to help discover new items
- Ensure merchandising standards are maintained; review/inspect products for quality and freshness and take appropriate actions
- Create and execute sales promotions in partnership with store management
- Inform and educate associates about current, upcoming, and special in-store promotions
- Ensure in-stock behaviors are executed daily
- Implement the departmental promotional plan
- Maintain product freshness and display cleanliness through hourly conditioning
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of backroom and prep areas following 5S practices
- Execute a proper 'good close' to ensure readiness for the morning
- Plan and organize inventory processes, monitor stock conditions, note discrepancies, and train associates on inventory and CAO
- Maintain proper temperatures in cases and coolers, and keep temperature logs
- Reinforce safety programs, identify unsafe conditions, and practice preventive maintenance
- Report safety risks, issues, and illegal activities such as theft or fraud
- Adhere to all laws and company guidelines
