Job description

Provide leadership support and direction during primetime hours (3p-7p M-F; 11a-7p Sat/Sun) to drive sales and enhance the customer experience. Partner with the store leader and department leader to develop a high-performance culture where associates are aligned to the business strategy and receive the knowledge and training needed to deliver a consistently great experience for Every Customer, Every Time. Demonstrate the company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety.

Responsibilities
  1. Promote trust and respect among associates, with a positive attitude; communicate company, department, and job-specific information to associates
  2. Establish department performance goals and empower associates to meet or exceed targets through teamwork
  3. Ensure timely completion of orders, work on backstock, rotate products, and replenish throughout the day
  4. Train and develop associates on their job performance and participate in performance appraisals
  5. Create an environment that makes customers feel welcome, important, and appreciated by answering questions, making suggestions, and locating products
  6. Inform customers of produce specials and offer samples to help discover new items
  7. Ensure merchandising standards are maintained; review/inspect products for quality and freshness and take appropriate actions
  8. Create and execute sales promotions in partnership with store management
  9. Inform and educate associates about current, upcoming, and special in-store promotions
  10. Ensure in-stock behaviors are executed daily
  11. Implement the departmental promotional plan
  12. Maintain product freshness and display cleanliness through hourly conditioning
  13. Ensure cleanliness and organization of backroom and prep areas following 5S practices
  14. Execute a proper 'good close' to ensure readiness for the morning
  15. Plan and organize inventory processes, monitor stock conditions, note discrepancies, and train associates on inventory and CAO
  16. Maintain proper temperatures in cases and coolers, and keep temperature logs
  17. Reinforce safety programs, identify unsafe conditions, and practice preventive maintenance
  18. Report safety risks, issues, and illegal activities such as theft or fraud
  19. Adhere to all laws and company guidelines
  20. Perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
