Job summary

Whole Foods Market in Cheshire, CT is seeking a team member to perform produce processing, preparation, and merchandising duties. You will ensure quality, maintain sanitation, and provide courteous, friendly service to customers and team members.

This role requires standing for long periods, lifting up to 50 pounds, and following health, safety, and company procedures. Training and schedule flexibility support store goals and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Thorough knowledge of produce products and freshness standards.
• Capability to communicate market information to customers.
• Understanding spoilage, waste and its impact on department profits.
• Awareness of merchandising expectations within the department.
• Strong teamwork and ability to share information clearly with staff.

Responsibilities

• Cuts fruits and vegetables following safety and sanitation rules.
• Ensures product meets WFM guidelines for quality and preparation.
• Maintains sampling program.
• Cleans department continuously and maintains logs.
• Arrives on time, groomed and ready to work; attends trainings.
• Provides excellent customer service and uses suggestive selling techniques.
• Maximizes sales through proper prepping, storing, rotating and merchandising.
• Follows procedures including health, sanitation and safety rules.
• Maintains clean, sanitary environment and equipment.
• Performs opening, mid, and closing duties and checks pricing signs.
• Reports safety hazards and violations promptly.
• Performs other duties as assigned by leadership.
