Job summary

Nino Salvaggio International Marketplace in Troy, MI is seeking an Assistant Produce Prep Manager to oversee the produce prep department. You will direct department functions, manage production, stocking, and ensure alignment with sales, gross profit, and customer service goals.

Responsibilities include training and development of staff, ordering, inventory control, and maintaining product quality and freshness.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must be able to work early mornings, nights and weekends.
• 1–3 months related experience or demonstrated ability.
• Food service certification preferred.
• Knowledge of knives and their use.
• Experience in stocking, rotation procedures, product knowledge, customer service experience.
• Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing.
• Excellent knowledge of products carried in the department.
• Excellent organizational skills (detail oriented, goal oriented, follow through).
• Great attitude (people skills, innovative, proactive).

Responsibilities

• Direct and supervise all department functions to achieve sales, gross profit, customer service and labor goals.
• Cut, chop and prepare all produce prep items per company standards.
• Direct work flow and coordinate activities with Produce Manager(s).
• Oversee department operations including training, ordering, attendance, discipline, etc., with Produce Manager(s).
• Assist in interviewing, training and development of associates for Produce and Produce Prep departments.
• Greet customers and provide prompt, courteous service per company standards.
• Motivate associates to achieve sales and customer service goals.
• Lead by example and ensure excellent customer service.
• Other duties as assigned.
