Job summary

Buehler's Fresh Foods in Orrville, OH is seeking a dedicated Hourly Lead in the Produce Department who will oversee daily department operations during and after a training program. After successful completion, a permanent store placement will be arranged.

You will supervise backroom and production, coordinate ordering and receiving, rotate stock, maintain coolers, manage scheduling, and support customer service on the sales floor while upholding sanitation and housekeeping standards.

Qualifications

• Availability to work 35+ hours per week including nights and weekends.
• Previous Produce prep, merchandising, and sales floor experience required.
• Physical demands include lifting to 50 lb, occasional 80 lb.

Responsibilities

• Oversee total department operation during training and supervise backroom/production.
• Handle ordering, receiving and checking in perishable and non-perishable items.
• Maintain cooler organization, product rotation, and inventory control (back stock).
• Perform trimming, packaging, sanitation and housekeeping.
• Manage departmental scheduling, evaluations and employee relations.
• Provide customer service on the sales floor; travel to other Buehler's locations for training.

Job description

Job Description: Upon completion of the training program, this Hourly Lead Person in the Produce Department is responsible for total department operation including direct supervision of its backroom and production. There will be a permanent store placement after training is completed.

Possible Placement Locations - Medina, Stark, Summit, and Wayne County Stores.

This person's primary duties include: working with both Full Time and Part Time Helpers and include ordering, receiving and checking-in perishable and non-perishable merchandise, cooler organization, product rotation, inventory [Back stock Control], trimming, packaging, sanitation, and housekeeping. Additional responsibilities include departmental scheduling, performance evaluations and employee relation issues. Secondary duties assume related activities as required including customer service on the sales floor.

Qualifications:

1. Availability: Must be available to be scheduled 35+hrs a week, including nights and weekends, based on department needs.
2. Previous Experience: Previous Produce prep, merchandising, and sales floor experience required.
3. Physical Demands: repetitive lifting to 50#; occasional lifting to 80#.

Other Considerations: This person must be willing to travel to different Buehler's locations for training.
