Job summary

Fresh Thyme Market in the Midwest is seeking a Produce Manager to oversee all aspects of the Produce Department. You will lead staff, manage inventory and labor, and ensure excellent customer service while maintaining product freshness and accurate pricing.

The ideal candidate has extensive grocery experience, strong leadership, and the ability to drive department profitability in a high-volume retail environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency.
• Minimum 5 years professional experience.
• Preferred 3–5 years grocery retail experience in Produce.
• Previous experience in a natural foods industry is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepares weekly sales and labor projections for the Produce Dept.
• Controls costs and inventory; manages ordering and shrink.
• Leads Produce Dept staff including hiring, training, scheduling, coaching.
• Oversees department scheduling and ensures display readiness.
• Ensures product freshness, proper tagging, and pricing accuracy.
• Maintains department cleanliness and safety compliance.
• Responds to customer inquiries and assists with product selection.
• Analyzes company financial statements and results.
