Job summary

Fresh Thyme Market is seeking a Produce Manager in the Joliet area to lead the Produce Department, oversee staff, and drive sales and customer satisfaction. You will ensure quality, pricing accuracy, and inventory control while maintaining a friendly, efficient shopping environment.

The ideal candidate has at least 5 years in grocery produce, strong leadership, and excellent communication; knowledge of health guidelines and safety is essential. Competitive pay and benefits offered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency required.
• Minimum 5 years professional experience in grocery/produce.
• Preferred 3–5 years in Produce department operations.
• Experience in natural foods industry is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepares weekly sales and labor projections for the Produce Department.
• Manages staff including hiring, training, scheduling and coaching.
• Oversees inventory, pricing accuracy and case presentation.
• Ensures department safety, cleanliness and excellent customer service.
• Monitors department budgets and balances general ledger entries.
