Albertsons Companies in Damascus, MD is seeking a Produce Department Manager to lead daily operations of the Produce Department, upholding freshness, quality and customer service.

You will implement merchandising programs, manage displays, control inventory and train associates to deliver knowledgeable service in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Experience leading a retail Produce team.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily Produce Dept operations with focus on freshness and service.
• Deliver knowledgeable service and ensure staff have product knowledge.

• Maintain fresh, clean, and visually appealing produce displays.
• Manage rotation, remove damaged items, and maintain freshness standards.
• Order, receive, inspect, and store product per safety guidelines.
• Control shrink through inventory management and waste reduction.
• Build and manage labor schedules and supervise associates.
• Train and develop produce staff while maintaining a positive team environment.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and company standards.

Main Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the Produce Department with a focus on freshness, quality, and customer service
• Deliver knowledgeable, friendly service and ensure associates demonstrate strong product knowledge
• Execute corporate merchandising programs, planograms, seasonal sets, and promotional displays
• Maintain full, fresh, clean, and visually appealing produce displays at all times
• Manage product rotation, remove damaged or unsellable items, and maintain freshness standards
• Order, receive, inspect, and store product following food safety and rotation guidelines
• Manage shrink through inventory controls, root‑cause identification, and waste‑reduction strategies
• Build and manage labor schedules aligned with business needs
• Train, coach, and develop produce associates while maintaining a positive team environment
• Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, safety, and company operational standards
