Job summary

The Albertsons Companies in Sherman, TX is seeking a Produce Department Manager to oversee daily produce operations, ensure freshness, quality and customer service, and drive sales through merchandising and inventory control. This hands-on leadership role focuses on training and coaching associates, maintaining visually appealing displays, and complying with food safety standards.

Weekend/holiday availability is required.

Qualifications

• Experience in leading a Produce Department or similar retail leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of freshness standards and retail merchandising.
• Ability to manage inventory, rotate stock and control shrink.
• Flexible availability including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the Produce Department with a focus on freshness, quality, and customer service
• Deliver knowledgeable, friendly service and ensure associates demonstrate strong product knowledge
• Execute corporate merchandising programs, planograms, seasonal sets, and promotional displays
• Maintain full, fresh, clean, and visually appealing produce displays at all times
• Manage product rotation, remove damaged or unsellable items, and maintain freshness standards
• Order, receive, inspect, and store product following food safety and rotation guidelines
• Manage shrink through inventory controls, root‑cause identification, and waste‑reduction strategies
• Build and manage labor schedules aligned with business needs
• Train, coach, and develop produce associates while maintaining a positive team environment
• Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, safety, and company operational standards

Main Responsibilities
