Job summary

Albertsons Companies in Cambridge, MA is seeking an Assistant Produce Department Manager to lead daily produce operations, uphold freshness standards, and drive sales through merchandising and inventory control. Main Responsibilities
  • Help oversee daily operations of the Produce Department with a focus on freshness, quality, and customer service
  • Deliver knowledgeable, friendly service and ensure associates demonstrate strong product knowledge
  • Assist with executing corporate merchandising programs, planograms, seasonal sets, and promotional displays
  • Maintain full, fresh, clean, and visually appealing produce displays at all times
  • Assist with managing product rotation, remove damaged or unsellable items, and maintain freshness standards
  • Assist with ordering, receiving, inspection, and store product following food safety and rotation guidelines
  • Help with managing shrink through inventory controls, root-cause identification, and waste-reduction strategies
  • Assist with building and managing labor schedules aligned with business needs
  • Assist with training, coaching, and developing produce associates while maintaining a positive team environment
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, safety, and company operational standards
  • Perform Product Department duties as needed and assume responsibility for department operations in the absence of the Produce Manager
