PRODUCE MANAGER

As a Produce Manager, you will oversee the produce department to achieve desired gross profit and productivity levels, ensuring efficient product movement, labor planning, and inventory management.

Essential Job Functions

• Projects sales, product movement, and labor needs.
• Orders product according to established guidelines.
• Receives and unloads truck deliveries using available equipment and established guidelines.
• Establishes daily work assignments and priorities for produce department personnel.
• Follows established guidelines for personnel issues: interviewing, hiring, training, performance evaluation, discipline, discharge.
• Follows established guidelines for completion of all required forms, records, reports, and verifies receipts.
• Prepares weekly work schedules according to established guidelines.
• Stocks and straightens merchandise and supplies.
• Uses pricing/label gun to mark each item with the correct selling price.
• Rotates merchandise according to anticipated shelf life/product expiration dates.
• Performs basic housekeeping duties using available equipment (mops, brooms, floor scrubbing and buffing machines).
• Operates all required tools and equipment safely, except when restricted due to age.
• Lifts and moves items weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Ensures coolers and cases maintain appropriate temperatures.
• Works in temperature extremes; produce cooler maximum low temperature, 32°.
• Stands and/or walks at a rapid pace for extended periods to perform essential job functions.

Secondary Job Functions

• Performs all essential job functions at an acceptable level of speed and accuracy.
