Job summary

Houchens Food Group is seeking a Produce Manager in Oneonta, AL to lead the produce department, project sales, manage product movement and labor needs, and ensure timely ordering and deliveries. You will set daily work assignments and supervise staff to maintain efficiency and quality.

Position requires following safety policies, dress code, and instruction, with physical stamina to lift up to 50 pounds, withstand temperature extremes, and maintain equipment and cleanliness.

Responsibilities

• Achieves desired gross profit.

• Projects sales, product movement, labor needs.
• Orders product according to established guidelines.
• Receives and unloads truck deliveries using available equipment and according to established guidelines.
• Establishes daily work assignments and priorities for produce department personnel.
• Follows established guidelines in all personnel issues, interviewing, hiring, training, performance evaluation, discipline, discharge, etc.
• Follows established guidelines for completion of all required forms, records, reports and verify receipts.
• Prepares weekly work schedules according to established guidelines.
• Stocks and straightens merchandise and supplies.
• Using pricing/label gun, marks each item with the correct selling price.
• Rotates merchandise according to anticipated shelf life/product expiration dates.
• Performs basic housekeeping duties using available equipment, (mops, brooms, floor scrubbing and buffing machines, etc.).
• Operates all required tools and equipment in a safe manner except when restricted due to age.
• Standing and/or walking at a rapid pace for extended periods of time to perform essential job functions.
• Maintain coolers and cases temperatures
• Ability to lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work in temperature extremes, (produce cooler maximum low temperature, 32 degrees).
• Standing and/or walking at a rapid pace for extended periods of time to perform essential job functions.
• Maintains a neat and clean work area.
• Performs all essential job functions at an acceptable level of speed and accuracy.
