Qualifications

  • Must have 3 years of Produce Management experience in a retail grocery or supermarket environment.
  • Proven leadership experience with the ability to manage, motivate, and develop a team.
  • Strong knowledge of fresh produce, including quality standards, seasonality, market pricing, and handling practices.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the day-to-day operations of the Produce Department, ensuring efficient workflow and exceptional product presentation.
  • Recruit, train, coach, and supervise department associates to maintain a high-performing team.
  • Manage inventory by monitoring stock levels, placing orders, and minimizing shrink while meeting customer demand.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiating pricing, delivery schedules, and product return agreements.
  • Ensure all produce meets company quality standards, freshness expectations, and merchandising guidelines.
  • Analyze sales performance, department expenses, and inventory reports to identify opportunities for growth and operational improvements.
  • Maintain compliance with company policies, food safety standards, and sanitation procedures.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service by creating a clean, organized, and well-stocked shopping environment.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
  • Frequently stand, walk, bend, reach, lift, pull, and stoop throughout the workday.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds regularly and heavier items with assistance when necessary.
  • Work in a retail environment with exposure to refrigeration units, coolers, and varying temperatures.
