Job summary

Kroger in Illinois is seeking a detail-oriented supervisor to provide leadership during primetime hours (3p-7p M-F; 11a-7p Sat/Sun) to drive sales and enhance the customer experience.

You will partner with store and department leaders to develop a high-performance culture where associates are aligned to our business strategy and receive the training needed to deliver a consistently great experience for Every Customer, Every Time.

Qualifications

• Excellent oral/written communication skills.
• Ability to handle stressful situations.
• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, subtraction).

Responsibilities

• Promote trust and respect among associates; communicate information to staff.
• Set department goals and empower teams to meet targets.
• Ensure timely order processing, backstock, rotation and replenishment.
• Train and develop associates and participate in evaluations.
• Create welcoming environment; answer questions and locate products.
• Inform customers of produce specials and offer samples.
• Maintain merchandising standards; inspect quality and freshness.
• Create and run promotions with store management.
• Educate staff on current and upcoming promotions.
• Ensure daily in-stock practices.
• Implement periodic promotional plan.
• Maintain fresh displays and hourly conditioning.
• Keep backroom/prep areas clean; apply 5S.
• Ensure a good close for morning readiness.
• Plan inventory; monitor stock and CAO training.
• Maintain proper temperatures and logs.
• Reinforce safety; inspect equipment and report issues.
• Report safety risks or illegal activity.
• Follow laws and company guidelines.
• Perform essential functions with/without accommodation.
