Job summary

You will train staff, manage scheduling, monitor quality and freshness, and partner with store management to optimize sales and profitability while upholding safety standards and company values.

Qualifications

• Basic math skills (counting, addition, subtraction).
• Ability to handle stressful situations.
• Current food handlers permit upon employment.
• HS diploma or GED preferred.
• Produce/retail experience desirable.
• Second language skills beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Promote trust and respect among associates with a positive attitude.
• Communicate department information to associates.
• Establish department goals and empower associates to meet targets.
• Develop adequate scheduling to manage customer volume.
• Train and develop associates on their performance and participate in evaluations.
• Create an inviting environment and assist customers with product questions.
• Inform customers of produce specials and offer samples to discover new items.
• Review product quality and freshness and take appropriate action.
• Develop and implement a department business plan to achieve results.
• Plan and execute promotions in partnership with store management.
• Educate associates about promotions and store guidelines.
• Prepare seasonal critiques for the sales and merchandising supervisor.
• Assist in budgeting, expense control, and financial reporting.
