Job summary

Lowes Foods, LLC seeks a Bench Department Manager to supervise the produce department, ensure guest service excellence, and maintain merchandising programs. After training, candidates will fill a Department Manager role within 30 miles of home, or remain in bench until a position opens.

The role emphasizes coordinating staff, managing inventory, ensuring quality, safety, and adherence to company standards in a dynamic grocery environment.

Qualifications

• Ability to lift 50 lbs regularly.
• Ability to read and understand information and direction.
• Knowledge of produce operations.
• Ability to supervise people including training and development.
• Effective communication and guest service skills.
• Ability to bend, kneel and stand for extended periods of time.

Responsibilities

• Ensure guests receive polite, friendly service from the produce/floral department staff.
• Achieve budgeted sales and profits for the produce/floral department.
• Maintain desired level of inventory and supplies.
• Operate the department according to merchandising and operational guidelines and programs.
• Ensure the quality of product for sale meets Lowes Foods standards.
• Maintain sanitation and safety throughout the department according to Lowes Foods standards.
• Provide guidance, orientation, training and feedback to ensure produce department hosts achieve satisfactory performance standards.
• Perform product preparation, receiving, conditioning, stocking and guest service as necessary to achieve standards.
• Maintain department’s labor budget and scheduling standards.
• Perform all other duties as assigned by management.
