Job summary

MOM's Organic Market in the Chicago area is seeking a Produce Manager to ensure the produce department delivers the highest quality products and service. The role covers quality control, merchandising, inventory management, and departmental hiring while maintaining cleanliness and organization.

The Produce Manager will oversee purchasing, signage, and department upkeep, manage staff, and participate in weekly leadership meetings. A track record of success and a strong culture fit are essential.

Qualifications

• Dependable and reliable with a flexible schedule that includes nights, weekends and holidays.
• Completion of the PMIT training program and New Manager Orientation.
• Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Basic math, weights and measures knowledge.
• Proficient with Google Suite, Microsoft Office and Catapult.

Responsibilities

• Utilize the Produce Waste Snapshot report to gauge and support department goals.
• Monitor department quality control and communicate issues to Central Store Support Produce team.
• Oversee inventory management, credits, adjustments, transfers and COUS fix procedures.
• Oversee all purchasing within the department to ensure order accuracy and minimize waste.
• Ensure signage is accurate and updated daily; perform weekly and off-cycle price changes.
• Reset the department daily following merchandising standards set by Central Store Support.
• Implement the produce department cleaning program with OPS team.
• Manage staff including hiring, corrective action, training, mentoring and scheduling.
• Attend LT meetings and weekly Produce Manager huddles.
• Other duties as assigned.
