Job summary

The Kroger Co. in Nashville, Tennessee is seeking a store leadership professional to provide direction during primetime hours (3p-7p weekdays; 11a-7p weekends) to drive sales and enhance the customer experience.

You will partner with the store leader and department leaders to develop a high-performance culture aligned to the business strategy and ensure associates have the knowledge and training to deliver a great Every Customer, Every Time experience.

Qualifications

• Excellent oral/written communication skills.
• Ability to handle stressful situations.
• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, subtraction).

Responsibilities

• Promote trust and respect among associates and communicate information to staff.
• Establish department performance goals and empower associates to meet targets through teamwork.
• Ensure orders are processed in a timely manner, manage backstock, rotate product and replenish throughout the day.
• Train and develop associates on their performance and participate in the performance appraisal process.
• Create an environment that makes customers feel welcome and valued by answering questions and locating products.
• Inform customers of produce specials and offer product samples to help customers discover new items.
• Ensure merchandising standards are followed and inspect products for quality and freshness, taking action as needed.
• Create and execute sales promotions in partnership with store management.
• Educate department associates about current and upcoming promotions, especially those affecting the department.
• Ensure in-stock behaviors are performed daily and manage inventory planning and CAO training.
• Maintain proper temperatures in cases and record temperature logs.
• Reinforce safety programs by following procedures and reporting hazards or incidents.
• Adhere to local, state and federal laws and company guidelines.
