Job summary

You will answer questions about products, support with produce prep, and help maintain accuracy in merchandising, pricing and inventory.

Qualifications

• Ability to handle stressful situations.

• Current food handlers permit once employed.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation produce platters/trays.
• Inform customers of produce specials.
• Recommend items to customers to ensure they get the products they want and need.
• Adequately prepare, package, label and inventory merchandise.
• Review/inspect products for quality and freshness and take action.
• Label, stock and inventory department merchandise.
• Report product ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
• Display a positive attitude.
• Stay current with present, future, seasonal and special ads.
• Ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers and maintain logs.
• Reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures and identify unsafe conditions.
• Practice preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and notify management of repairs.
• Notify management of customer or employee accidents.
• Report all safety risks or issues, including: robbery, theft or fraud.
• Ability to work cooperatively in high paced and stressful environment.
• Ability to manage conflict in a reasonable, nonconfrontational manner.
• Ability to act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
• Follow directions and seek assistance to resolve customer and business issues.
• Provide support through direct interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, and/or older adults.
