Primary Responsibilities

1. Greet, assist, and politely ring out customers
2. Maintain company standards for perishables, ensure safety procedures are followed, and keep the area organized
3. Monitor and record cooler/freezer temperatures, ensure safety codes are met, and understand cleaning supplies and chemicals
4. Adjust product displays to ensure they are full, visually appealing, and rotated properly according to season and demand
5. Prepare the backroom for receiving merchandise, check quality and quantity, and verify against invoices
6. Calculate retail prices, update pricing systems, and supervise manual pricing if needed
7. Manage damaged or unsalable products, including returns and markdowns

Supervision

Reports directly to the Produce Department Manager

Qualifications

1. Basic Math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide)
2. High School Diploma or equivalent
3. Experience with produce in a grocery setting preferred

Physical Tasks

1. Lift, twist, and carry up to 50 lbs.
2. Maintain signage and pricing
3. Care for signs, banners, and debris

Work Environment

Indoor work with temperature and humidity transitions due to backdoor, coolers, and preparation areas.
