Job summary

El Super in Oxnard, CA is seeking a Produce Clerk to join the Store Operations Team. Starting rate is $16.90 per hour. Under direct supervision of the Produce Manager, you will assist customers, keep the produce displays clean and rotated, and maintain fast-paced store operations.

Candidates should be able to lift up to 50 lbs, stand, bend, and kneel as needed. Prior retail experience and basic computer skills are a plus. Equal employment opportunities are provided by El Super.

Qualifications

• Read and comprehend simple instructions and product labels.
• Write simple correspondence and relay information clearly to customers and coworkers.
• Explain information effectively in one-on-one or small group settings.
• Regularly lift up to 25 lbs, frequently 45 lbs, and occasionally 60 lbs.

The Opportunity

Under direct supervision of Produce Manager, the Produce Clerk provides customer service. Assists customers, cleans, fills and rotates the perishable (produce) displays. Must be able to lift 50 lbs, bend, stand and stoop for prolonged periods. The working environment is typical for a fast-paced grocery store, and essential functions of this job include physical requirements such as lifting, standing, walking and kneeling as well as visual and auditory requirements.
