Job summary

Rosauers Supermarkets Inc. is seeking a Produce Clerk to bring fresh fruit, vegetables, and herbs to customers with a focus on quality and service. You will prepare, package, and display produce while maintaining high standards of freshness and organization.

Responsibilities include greeting customers, answering questions, washing and packaging produce, stocking displays, and ensuring clean, safe work practices. Weekend/evening availability is required.

Qualifications

• Candidates should have prior experience in a similar role.
• Knowledge and passion for fresh produce is preferred.
• Ability to communicate clearly with customers.

Responsibilities

• Welcome and greet customers and help them locate produce items.
• Assist customers by answering questions and offering recommendations.
• Wash, peel, cut, and package various fresh produce; stock and rotate items.
• Regularly check freshness and ensure high-quality produce on display.
• Remove items not meeting quality standards or spoilage signs.
• Monitor inventory and keep display area well-stocked.
• Stay updated on present, future, seasonal ads in produce.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment per health regulations.
• Collaborate with team to ensure a seamless customer experience.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned.

As a Produce Clerk, you'll be at the forefront of bringing nature's bounty to our customers' tables. In this role, you'll be responsible for preparing, packaging, and displaying fresh fruit products, ensuring they are of the highest quality and freshness for our customers. Your dedication to organization and customer service will ensure that our customers have access to the finest fruits, vegetables, and herbs, while enjoying a positive and enjoyable shopping experience.

What You'll Do

• Welcome and greet customers with a smile and help them to locate various produce items.
• Assist customers by answering questions about our produce and provide recommendations.
• Wash, peel, cut, and package various types of fresh produce. Stock and rotate fresh produce.
• Regularly check the freshness of fruits and vegetables on display. Ensure all produce is fresh.
• Remove produce items that do not meet our quality standards and/or show signs of spoilage.
• Monitor inventory levels and assist to ensure the produce display area is always well-stocked.
• Keep up to date with present, future, seasonal and special ads in the produce department.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to health and safety regulations.
• Work collaboratively with other team members to ensure a seamless customer experience.
• Perform other tasks as assigned.

Requirements

• Candidates must be 18+ years or older
• Produce experience preferred
• Complete a pre-employment background check
• Current food workers card (where applicable) once employed
• Must be available for weekends and evenings
• Must be proficient in all aspects or retail produce

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to regularly lift, carry, and push up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation.
