Job summary

Houchens Food Group seeks a Produce Clerk to assist the Produce Department with ordering, merchandising, inventory, and maintaining profitability. You will ensure attractive displays, proper rotation, and excellent customer service while supporting the Produce Manager.

This is a full-time, non-exempt position with no travel, requiring a schedule that serves customers, including nights and weekends. Basic math and simple computer skills are expected; no prior experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain produce case and rotated stock at all times.
• Ensure the sales floor looks its best and inviting.
• Assist in ordering all produce with the Produce Manager.
• Keep cooler dates organized and properly rotated.
• Assist in credits calls within the allowed time.
• Support four weekly inventory of produce.
• Record and maintain weekly/monthly produce purchases.
• Provide friendly, courteous, prompt customer service.
• Perform other duties as needed.

POSITION SUMMARY

Assist Produce Manager in the operation of the produce department, including but not limited to, ordering,

merchandising, rotating product, inventorying merchandise and profitability.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Maintain produce case and keep rotated at all times.
• Responsible for overall appearance and eye appeal of sales floor.
• Assist Produce Manager in ordering all produce.
• Assist Produce Manager in keeping cooler dates, organized and properly rotated.
• Assist Produce Manager in calling in credits within the allowed time.
• Assist Produce Manager with the four week period end produce inventory.
• Assist Produce Manager with recording and maintaining accurate bookkeeping systems including but not limited to weekly and monthly produce purchases.
• Provide excellent customer service, including but not limited to friendly courteous and prompt customer service.
• Other job related task as needed.
