Job summary

SpartanNash is hiring a Produce Clerk in Grand Rapids, MI to maintain and operate the produce department. You will trim, prepare, weigh, package and label produce, rotate stock, and merchandise shelves while following safety and guest experience guidelines.

The ideal candidate will have a High School Diploma (GED) preferred and at least one year of retail or related experience, with the ability to read and interpret documents and perform basic math.

Responsibilities

• Cut, slice, and prepare produce as directed; follow procedures for culling, trimming and storing product.
• Weigh, package and label products.
• Handle spoiled/damaged products per guidelines.
• Fill, rotate and merchandise produce and floral shelves; assist with unloading deliveries and stacking in coolers.
• Notify Manager if products and supplies need to be ordered.
• Practice suggestive selling techniques with customers.
• Maintain knowledge of products, prices, and usage.
• Follow PPE, safety, food safety, and cleaning guidelines.
