Job summary

SpartanNash in Dowagiac, MI is seeking a part-time Produce Associate to maintain and merchandise fresh produce, trim and prepare merchandise, and assist with deliveries. You’ll follow safety, food safety, and guest experience guidelines while keeping the department clean and well stocked.

You’ll meet a high school diploma (GED preferred) requirement, have at least one year of retail experience, and possess basic math skills.

Qualifications

• One year of retail or related experience preferred.
• Able to handle fresh fruits and vegetables without allergic reactions.
• Ability to read, write, comprehend, and interpret documents.
• Basic mathematical skills.
• Detail oriented.

Responsibilities

• Cut, slice, and prepare produce; follow procedures for culling, trimming, and storing product.
• Weigh, package and label products.
• Handle spoiled/damaged products per guidelines and maintain stock.
• Fill, rotate and merchandise produce and floral shelves and displays; assist unloading deliveries.
• Notify the Manager if products and supplies need to be ordered.
• Practice suggestive selling techniques with customers.

Apply now!**Location:**56151 South M-51 - Dowagiac, Michigan 49047**Position Summary:**This role is to maintain and operate the produce department including trimming and preparation of merchandise according to company and department standards; to ensure that the work shift contributes to the financial best interest of the store.
