Job summary

Rainbow Blossom in Louisville is seeking a Produce Category Manager to lead the produce category across all locations. You will oversee product selection, vendor relationships, purchasing, merchandising, pricing, and category performance with a focus on growth and quality.

This is a hands-on, multi-store leadership role collaborating with Produce Department Managers, store leaders, local farmers, and the Retail Strategy & Systems Manager.

Qualifications

• Experience in produce, category or product management within retail.
• Supervisory experience including hiring, training, evaluating, and delegating preferred.
• Strong communication and organizational skills; proficient in retail math.
• Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred, not required.

Responsibilities

• Lead the overall strategy and performance of the produce category across Rainbow Blossom locations.
• Coach Produce Department Managers and build consistency across stores.
• Conduct store visits and audits focused on merchandising, pricing, and standards.
• Maintain relationships with local, regional, and national produce vendors.
• Negotiate pricing, promotions, and supply agreements to support profitability.
• Identify new vendors and seasonal sourcing opportunities with local farmers.
• Guide purchasing and ordering to ensure quality, availability, and inventory levels.
• Monitor sales, expenses, margins, and financial results to identify trends.
• Develop promotions and merchandising to showcase Rainbow Blossom's organic produce.
• Lead monthly team meetings and support training and development.
