Job summary

Jetro Restaurant Depot is seeking a Buyer responsible for profitable procurement and timely product delivery across assigned lines. You will work with the Sr. Director of Purchasing and Senior Buyers to manage supply chain activities and ensure financial accountability.

The role emphasizes forecast-driven ordering, cost minimization, policy adherence, and cross‑department collaboration with vendors, stores, and distribution centers. A strong background in grocery procurement is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Business Management, Economics, Accounting or Finance.
• Minimum of 2+ years of Purchasing or Vendor Management experience in grocery, candy, beverage is a plus.
• Marketing/Logistics experience preferred or strong understanding of store operations and merchandising methodologies and practices.
• Understanding of grocery procurement, logistics, inventory management, marketing, accounting and financial management practices.
• Excellent organizational and analytical skills; ability to take initiative and make fact-based decisions.
• Written and verbal communication skills as well as interpersonal skills to develop and maintain effective business relationships both internally and externally.

Responsibilities

• Order products to meet forecasted demand.
• Obtain best possible product costs, quality and service at all times.
• Ensure that established policies and procedures are understood and adhered to.
• Strive to obtain inventory and turn goals, while maintaining service level and minimizing distress.
• Interface with other departments and division personnel to accomplish job functions; develop relationships with vendors, store operations, distribution center and division office.
• Review acquisition costs to ensure items purchased are at the lowest cost with quality and reliability considerations.
• Assess current inventory, market conditions, availability, and promotional impact to forecast order quantities and advise merchandising.
• Conduct post-promotional reviews and analysis to determine if promotional requirements were met and propose solutions.
• Review and resolve inventory issues at store level due to allocations or order issues; monitor costs, service levels and turns.
• Visit stores to monitor programs, obtain feedback and assess implementation effectiveness.
• Manage Accounts Payable variance processes for distribution sourced items and resolve billing questions.
