Job summary

ShopRite is seeking a Produce Department associate to deliver a great customer experience while pricing, stocking and rotating merchandise. You’ll maintain a neat, clean and visually appealing department and perform other safe, efficient tasks in line with store policy.

You will greet customers, differentiate produce types, follow procedures for receiving, dating, storing and pricing, and ensure quality, temperature control and sanitation standards across the department.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write, speak English clearly.
• Ability to perform basic math.
• Ability to stand/walk for scheduled shift.
• Ability to lift 25 lbs regularly and up to 60 lbs occasionally.
• Ability to work with fresh, dried or processed products.
• Ability to tolerate dust and cleaning agents.
• Ability to work in varying temperatures.
• Ability to interact with customers in a friendly way.
• Ability to work cooperatively with others.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and provide prompt, courteous service.
• Promote current charitable promotions to customers.
• Maintain a clean, neat, organized, safe work environment.
• Differentiate between produce types and understand usage and pricing.
• Follow procedures for receiving, dating, storing, pricing, and restocking.
• Maintain Sanitation and QA standards, including cleaning tasks.
• Operate equipment and follow safety and regulatory guidelines.
• Keep display cases stocked and merchandise well presented.
• Control freshness and temperature with safe food handling procedures.
• Handle damaged products per policy and assist with shrink control.
• Unload trucks and move merchandise weighing 25–60 lbs.
• Adhere to C.O.O.L. regulations and shrink guidelines.
• Follow QA, PPE, and safe chemical usage guidelines.
• Report equipment issues and ensure timely repairs.
• Dress and groom per policy; maintain PPE as required.
• Attend applicable training and participate in ShopRite priorities.
• Maintain punctuality and regular attendance; overtime as needed.
• Work cooperatively with others; 18+ to operate certain equipment.
