Job summary

Southland Industries is seeking a detail-oriented Purchasing Assistant to support the sourcing team with material orders, take-offs, and data entry at our Pflugerville, TX location. You will help expedite orders, resolve invoicing errors, and assist with supplier communications to meet project deadlines.

Ideal candidates have at least 1 year in purchasing or customer service support, strong multitasking, solid computer skills, and familiarity with ERP systems.

Qualifications

• High school degree or G.E.D required.
• Minimum 1 year experience in purchasing or customer service support.
• Basic purchasing practices and systems knowledge preferred.
• Strong time management skills with ability to handle multiple projects.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Proficient with spreadsheets, word processing, databases, and ERP software.

Responsibilities

• Assist Purchasing team with placing orders.
• Coordinate with suppliers to follow up on delivery dates and back orders; inform teams of issues.
• Maintain current supplier pricing in ERP and purchasing spreadsheets.
• Assist with processing material receivers and coordinating bulk deliveries.
• Assist with processing material returns and credits.
• Support RFQ/RFP processes to obtain pricing, availability, and delivery schedules.
