Pro Staff in Sterling Heights, MI is seeking a detail-oriented Procurement Specialist for a temporary opportunity. This role supports manufacturing operations by managing vendor relationships, sourcing materials and services, and maintaining procurement records.

The ideal candidate has 3 to 5+ years in purchasing or procurement, experience with Oracle/MRP or ERP systems, strong negotiation and analytical skills, and the ability to work with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• 3 to 5+ years of purchasing, procurement, supply chain experience.
• Experience with Oracle, MRP, ERP software preferred.
• Strong negotiation, vendor management, and analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with internal teams.
• Excellent communication, technical writing, and presentation skills.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.

Responsibilities

• Manage procurement activities for indirect materials and services
• Analyze material requirements and purchasing needs using Oracle and MRP systems
• Prepare and issue RFQs, RFPs, and RFIs to suppliers
• Evaluate supplier quotes, pricing, and proposals
• Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules to meet business objectives
• Create, administer, and track purchase orders
• Monitor supplier performance, quality, delivery, and compliance requirements
• Coordinate supplier onboarding and confidentiality agreements
• Support source selection activities and vendor management initiatives
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to resolve purchasing, quality, design, and payment issues
• Maintain accurate procurement records and ensure compliance with purchasing policies
• Participate in supplier meetings, program reviews, and continuous improvement efforts
• Travel up to 10% as needed
