Job summary

The University of Texas at Austin seeks a Departmental Buyer for the Applied Research Laboratories at the Pickle Research Campus. The role focuses on sourcing suppliers, securing bids, and awarding procurement orders while ensuring compliance with UT and federal regulations.

You will manage data in the ARL:UT IRIS and UT DEFINE/POINT PLUS systems, provide pricing estimates, and coordinate with internal stakeholders to streamline purchasing in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• One year purchasing experience including bids and awards.
• One year customer service experience with diverse personalities.
• Ability to handle confidential information and work independently.
• Strong organization, time management and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient with MS Office, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat.

Responsibilities

• Develop sources of supply, secure bids, and award orders.
• Locate products, provide pricing, maintain status database, and advise on purchase methods.
• Prepare documentation to comply with UT and federal regulations to effect a Purchase Order.
• Handle ProCard administration and voucher preparation.
• Provide pricing for contract cost estimates and planning.
• Assist in procurement processes and keep order data accurate.
