Job summary

Top Dog Recruiting seeks a Buyer to serve as the day-to-day procurement execution partner for plant and regional Operations. You will implement approved global and regional category strategies, ensure contract and purchasing compliance, and maintain material and service availability at target cost and delivery performance.

Role focuses on disciplined procure-to-pay execution, supplier follow-through, shortage resolution, data integrity, and coordinated inventory actions across facilities.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of relevant purchasing experience required.
• Working proficiency with Excel and ERP purchasing processes; Dynamics 365 experience preferred.
• Ability to analyze supplier delivery, open orders, inventory and cost data; communicate escalations effectively.
• Strong ethics, ownership, attention to detail, service mindset, collaboration across multiple plant priorities.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary purchasing execution partner for designated facilities and Operations leadership; understand schedules and constraints.
• Execute sourcing strategies, negotiated contracts, approved supplier lists, pricing, and specs established by Global/Regional leadership.
• Collaborate daily with Operations, Planning, Inventory, Quality, Finance/AP and Category Management; maintain clear escalation paths.
• Procure-to-pay discipline: convert demand into PO; confirm price, quantities, delivery dates, coding and approvals; monitor open orders through receipt and closure.
• Contract and policy compliance: use approved suppliers and terms; flag off-contract pricing and exceptions for resolution.
• Supplier execution and escalation: secure acknowledgements, expedite critical material, resolve shortages, coordinate recovery plans.
• Inventory and working capital: review demand, lead times, safety stock, excess/obsolete inventory; lower days on hand without impacting service.
• Supplier performance: maintain delivery/defect data, support corrective actions, implement scorecards for top suppliers.
• Cost and P&L impact: validate pricing, identify leakage and savings opportunities, communicate to leadership.
• Data and systems: maintain supplier/item/pricing/lead-time data in ERP; support standardized workflows.
• Customer service: provide clear status and recovery dates; reduce friction with standard processes.
