Job summary

Key People is seeking a Buyer to serve as the day-to-day procurement execution partner for plant and regional Operations. You will handle approved global and regional category strategies, ensure procurement compliance, and manage P2P processes to maintain material availability at target cost and quality.

The role requires an Associate's degree (bachelor’s preferred in supply chain/business) and 2+ years in purchasing or related fields, with strong Excel and D365 experience.

Qualifications

• Associate degree; bachelor’s in supply chain or related field preferred.
• 2+ years of purchasing, materials, supply chain or manufacturing customer-service experience required.
• Working proficiency with Excel and ERP purchasing processes; Microsoft Dynamics 365 experience preferred.
• Ability to analyze supplier delivery, open orders, inventory and cost data and communicate escalations effectively.
• Strong ethics, ownership, attention to detail, service mindset and cross-plant collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary purchasing execution partner for designated facilities and Operations leadership; understand production schedules and working capital impact.
• Execute sourcing strategies, negotiated contracts, approved supplier lists, pricing, and specifications; escalate exceptions rather than alter strategic agreements.
• Collaborate daily with Operations, Planning, Inventory, Quality, Finance/AP and Category Management; maintain clear escalation paths.
• Procure-to-pay discipline: convert approved demand into purchase orders; confirm terms and quantities; monitor open orders through receipt and invoicing.
• Ensure contract and policy compliance; flag off-contract pricing and maverick spend for resolution.
• Secure supplier performance data, expedite critical material, resolve shortages and coordinate recovery plans with operations.
• Partner with Operations to review demand, lead times, safety stock and inventory; optimize working capital without sacrificing service.
• Maintain supplier, item, pricing and PO data in ERP; support standardized workflows and continuous improvement.
• Provide Operations with status updates, ownership and realistic recovery dates to reduce friction.
