Marquee Staffing in the Long Beach area is seeking a Procurement Specialist to manage purchasing, coordinate with vendors, and ensure materials arrive on time to support production and customer orders.

The role requires strong organization, follow-through, and communication; responsibilities include PO management, cost analyses in Excel, supplier negotiation, and maintaining accurate records while identifying process improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred, but not required.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow-through.
• Ability to evaluate options and explain recommendations clearly.
• Proficient written and verbal communication with suppliers and internal teams.
• Proficient in Excel for cost comparisons and data analysis.
• Experience with ERP or purchasing software is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, issue, and track purchase orders with accurate pricing and delivery dates.
• Manage vendor relationships, request quotes, negotiate terms, and resolve discrepancies.
• Monitor open orders and follow up with suppliers for on-time delivery.
• Identify delays and coordinate solutions with internal teams.
• Forecast demand with production and sales to align material availability.
• Review inventory to prevent shortages and excess stock.
• Research alternative suppliers and parts with engineering/quality input.
• Prepare basic cost analyses in Excel for vendor/part changes.
• Maintain purchasing records and order status in systems.
• Identify opportunities to reduce costs and improve purchasing processes.
