Job summary

Matrix Project Services is seeking a Buyer II in Pennsylvania to manage supplier interaction, sourcing, and procurement of all materials and consumables. The role includes overseeing frame agreements with strategic suppliers and ensuring alignment with production schedules.

The candidate will monitor pricing trends, negotiate effectively, and drive cost-reduction initiatives while leveraging OEM pricing. Experience in manufacturing purchasing and CPSM/C.P.M certification are preferred.

Qualifications

• 2-year degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field preferred.
• 4+ years’ experience in manufacturing purchasing, preferably in construction/industrial area.
• Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) or Certified Purchasing Manager (C.P.M) preferred.
• Strong negotiation, decision-making, and communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to read prints and pull materials from prints.
• Knowledge of API, ASME, and ASTM code.
• Ability to work well in a fast-paced and demanding purchasing environment.
• Ability to work well under pressure to meet deadlines.
• Attention to detail with excellent analytical and organizational skills.
• Strong computer knowledge, including MS Excel, Word, Outlook, Access, and material management software.

• Foster supplier relationships from sourcing to performance monitoring.
• Drive OEM pricing with manufacturers.
• Assist in achieving financial targets and cost-reduction initiatives.
• Lead bids from material suppliers and ensure complete specifications on POs.
• Coordinate with field operations to align materials with production schedules.
• Manage Bills of Material, source, negotiate, place POs, and expedit delivery.
