Job summary

JT4, LLC is seeking a Buyer II to procure COTS materials, services, and equipment, negotiating favorable terms while managing supplier relationships. The role emphasizes cradle-to-grave procurement, bid analysis, and market trend monitoring to ensure cost-effective purchasing for government-related projects.

The candidate should have a business background, strong communication skills, and DoD familiarity; a bachelor’s degree is preferred, with 3+ years of experience.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of business, industrial and trade practices related to sales, prices, discounts, deliveries, stocks and shipments.
• Familiar with government purchasing systems and FAR compliance.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Planning and organizational skills.
• DoD experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform cradle-to-grave procurement from requisition to closeout.
• Solicit bids, analyze quotations, and select or recommend suppliers.
• Locate or promote new sources and monitor market trends.
• Expedite delivery and visit vendors' offices and plants.
• May direct work of clerks performing routine tasks.
• Interview prospective vendors as needed.
• Maintain relationships with internal and external customers.
• Suggest cost savings through negotiations and volume discounts.
• Process electronic purchase orders.
• Perform other duties as required.
