Job summary

Kustom Signals, Inc. Chanute, KS seeks a Buyer I to support timely procurement for production and operations. You will work with vendors, manufacturing, and engineering to optimize inventory while contributing to cost-saving initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred with 0–3 years in purchasing in manufacturing.
• Experience with MRP systems and sales/operations planning.
• Strong negotiation and cost analysis skills.
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook; excellent communication.
• Team-oriented, self-motivated, able to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Identify and evaluate domestic suppliers for materials and services.
• Negotiate purchase agreements aligning quality, cost, and delivery goals.
• Process requisitions and issue accurate purchase orders.
• Support vendor communication based on forecasts and PL/SO planning.
• Coordinate with production and engineering to optimize inventory.
• Track supplier performance and pursue cost-reduction opportunities.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to support continuous improvement.
