Job summary

Kustom Signals, Inc. is seeking a Buyer I to ensure timely procurement of materials for production and operations. You will work with vendors, manufacturing, and engineering to support cost-saving initiatives and maintain supplier relationships.

This entry-level role is ideal for someone early in their purchasing career, in a manufacturing environment. You will contribute to continuous improvement and work in a climate-controlled office, with a focus on accuracy and timely purchasing cycles.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 0 to 3 years of purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with MRP systems and sales/operations planning.
• Strong negotiation and cost analysis skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Identify and evaluate domestic suppliers for materials, equipment, and services.
• Negotiate purchase agreements that balance quality, cost, and delivery goals.
• Process purchase requisitions and prepare accurate, timely purchase orders.
• Support vendor communication based on forecasts.
• Coordinate with manufacturing, engineering, and service departments to maintain inventory levels.
• Track supplier performance and seek long-term partnerships and cost reductions.
