McDermott International in Houston seeks a Procurement Specialist to apply procurement knowledge and solve straightforward problems with guidance. You will analyze solutions, manage vendor relations, and ensure purchases meet technical, quality, safety, and delivery requirements.

The role involves RFQ execution, bid evaluation, PO administration, expediting support, and compliance with MDR procedures. Strong communication with internal teams and external vendors is essential.

Qualifications

• Supply Chain or Business Degree preferred or relevant experience.
• Approximately 5-7 years of relevant experience.
• Broad knowledge of the procurement process.
• Experience with purchasing permanent plant material (mechanical, piping, electrical, instrumentation, civil/structural).
• Reimbursable and lump sum projects.
• Ability to communicate commercial solutions and concepts to procurement and non-procurement personnel.
• Support Integrated Procurement worldwide, work with suppliers to develop supplier agreements.
• Understand local and regional logistics regulations and agreements.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Access).
• Experience in Smart Plant Materials, SAP and JDE, Oracle.
• Certificates in process improvement and/or Six Sigma a plus.

Responsabilités

• Perform procurement of materials in support of MDR activities per policies and budget.
• Interface with Client, PMT, Engineering, Construction, QA/QC, Safety, Accounting, and Warehouse.
• Interface externally with vendors and procure materials per requisition requirements.
• Develop procurement strategies for different project materials as needed.
• Maintain vendor base and survey market for new sources and price/delivery trends.
• Evaluate and monitor vendor performance continually.
• Facilitate supplier registration and RFQ processes and ensure timely clarifications.
• Coordinate vendor clarifications and conduct commercial bid evaluation.
• Ensure vendor selection complies with MDR procedures to meet budgets and delivery.
• Maintain PO administration including revisions, closeout, and discrepancies.
• Assist expediting and resolve delivery nonconformance issues as required.
• Support bid pricing with inputs and coordinate with Bids & Proposal team.
