Job summary

Q Microwave, a leader in the precision RF manufacturing field, seeks a Procurement Specialist in El Cajon, CA to join a fast-paced, collaborative team. You will convert production and engineering demand into executable purchase orders, manage supplier commitments, and resolve shortages before they affect customer delivery.

The role requires 3+ years in manufacturing procurement, a related degree, strong Excel and ERP/MRP experience, and excellent communication skills.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of progressive purchasing/procurement experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Bachelor's degree or certificate in Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations, or related field; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
• Experience managing purchase orders from requisition through receipt, including supplier confirmations, expediting, reschedules, and issue resolution.
• Working knowledge of MRP/ERP systems, inventory fundamentals, production planning interfaces, and supplier performance management.
• Strong Excel skills and ability to produce clear, data-driven reporting.
• Ability to access export-controlled information when required by position, subject to laws and company authorization processes.
• Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Review MRP/ERP demand and generate purchase requisitions based on work orders and schedules; issue purchase orders and obtain supplier confirmations.
• Negotiate price, lead time, quantities, and terms with vendors.
• Manage open purchase orders and supplier follow-up to Expedite, reschedule, or adjust orders.
• Develop and maintain supplier relationships; monitor supplier performance and cross-functional coordination to ensure delivery, quality, and compliance.
• Mitigate supplier risk by addressing late deliveries, quality issues, and shortages; implement recovery and alternate-source strategies.
• Support AS9100, export-control, cybersecurity, counterfeit-part, and flow-down requirements with Quality and Compliance.
• Collaborate with Stockroom and Shipping to resolve receipt, inspection, and dock-to-stock issues.
• Analyze spend, lead times, supplier performance, and inventory exposure to identify improvements.
• Participate in daily operating reviews, shortage meetings, and supplier reviews.
