Job summary

Jamco America Inc in Everett, WA is seeking a Tactical Buyer 2 to coordinate procurement of goods and services and negotiate with vendors. You will manage cost analyses, supplier selection, and vendor education to meet Jamco specifications for raw materials, equipment, tools, parts and supplies.

The role requires 2–3 years of buying experience, strong communication skills, and proficiency with MS Office and ERP software (Epicor preferred). This is a full-time, on-site position in Everett, WA.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• 2-3 years buying experience required.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both verbal and written.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products and ERP software, preferably Epicor.
• Professional with proven organizational and time management skills.
• All external hiring is contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Confers with vendors to obtain product or service information such as price, availability, and delivery schedule during the design stages.
• Perform cost analysis, bid proposals, and negotiations within budgetary limitations and scope of authority for off the shelf parts and Jamco proprietary design parts.
• Select vendors and present recommendations to leadership as requested.
• Educates vendors to understand Jamco requirements and technical specifications to aid in developing the vendor.
• Evaluate and identify vendor capabilities to support production requirements.
• Discusses defective or unacceptable goods or services with inspection or quality control personnel, users, vendors, and others to determine source of trouble and take corrective action.
• Assist in training and mentoring of team members.
• Look for alternate part numbers to better control cost and lead times.
