Job summary

Ascendion is seeking a Procurement Specialist to drive sourcing strategy within defined categories, engaging senior stakeholders and guiding procurement decisions. The role oversees sourcing processes, manages materials and reports for leadership, and delivers strategic advice across business areas.

  • Experience in procurement or purchasing is required.

Responsibilities

  • Engage with stakeholders to define category strategy and sourcing plans.
  • Maintain knowledge of business drivers and how they affect strategy.
  • Act as SME on procurement policies, processes and best practices.
  • Manage sourcing activities for projects with timely delivery and budgeting.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key suppliers and identify new partners.
  • Monitor compliance with the sourcing process and advise at each stage.
  • Develop category or sub-category strategy and pipelines.

About the Role

The main function of a Procurement Specialist is to lead in determining and managing the sourcing strategy within a defined category or sub categories, identifying and engaging with senior stakeholders. The manager will oversee the sourcing process and materials/reports for management, as well as provide sourcing and procurement advice to business areas.

Job Title: Procurement Specialist

Key Responsibilities
  • Engage with stakeholders to understand business requirements and to define and implement the category strategy, plans and processes for sourcing goods and services.
  • Maintain a detailed knowledge and understanding of the business drivers and have a comprehensive understanding of how they affect the business strategy.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on procurement policies, processes and best practice.
  • Manage key sourcing activities for business projects, ensuring timely delivery and budgeting with appropriate risk management.
  • Develop and maintain long‑term relationships with key existing strategic suppliers and identify potential new partners.
  • Monitor compliance with the business's sourcing process, acting as an internal consultant for each stage in the process.
  • Develop category or sub-category strategy, plans, sourcing pipelines.
Minimum Qualifications

Salary and Other Compensation

The annual [salary/hourly rate] for this position is between $78,000 - $91,000 annually. Factors which may affect pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
