Job summary

Air Line Pilots Association, International (ALPA) seeks an experienced Buyer for our Tysons (McLean), Virginia office. Under supervision, the Buyer reviews and approves online requisitions to ensure policy alignment and timely procurements.

You will collaborate with staff and pilots across the Association to maintain quality and efficiency in purchasing. Responsibilities include identifying and maintaining vendor contacts, reviewing invoices, and documenting purchases in procurement systems.

Qualifications

• Two years of college with emphasis in business math and/or accounting preferred; high school diploma required.
• Two years of experience as a professional buyer or purchasing agent required; four+ years preferred.
• Experience with purchasing software, inventory tracking, and workflow preferred.
• Accounting software experience helpful.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for vendors and pilots.

Responsibilities

• Review and approve online requisitions to ensure policy compliance.
• Collaborate with staff and pilots to ensure timely procurements.
• Identify, select, and maintain vendor contacts.
• Review invoices related to purchase orders and resolve issues.
• Maintain accurate records of purchases, contracts, and supplier information.
• Serve as procurement SME for Finance and IT projects.
