Job summary

The City of Fresno is seeking a Procurement Specialist to support the Purchasing division within the General Services Department. The role focuses on preparing bid specifications, analyzing bids, and ensuring compliance with laws and City policies.

Ideal candidates will have an Associate's Degree and at least one year of procurement and finance or government experience. A valid CA driver’s license is required at appointment.

Qualifications

• Thirty (30) semester units from an accredited college or university in Business or Public Administration, Accounting, or related field.
• One (1) year of procurement/buyer experience in a business or office setting involving cost determination, requisition preparation, bid comparison, and vendor selection.
• One (1) year of finance, budget, or accounting experience within a governmental agency.
• An acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare specifications for formal and informal bids.
• Develop bid analyses and vendor matrices.
• Conduct bid conferences, bid and proposal openings, and vendor meetings.
• Analyze proposals and complete bid evaluation reports.
• Process and prepares bids in compliance with applicable laws, regulations and City policies.
• Support procurement activities to assist the City of Fresno.
