Job summary

Experis is seeking a Procurement Specialist 5 in Columbus, OH to lead sourcing strategy across defined categories. You will engage senior stakeholders, oversee sourcing processes, and provide procurement guidance to business areas.

The role requires extensive purchasing experience, knowledge of data center construction, and long lead procurement. Expect involvement with strategic suppliers and cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, or related field.
• 10+ years of purchasing experience.
• Experience with data center construction and long lead procurement.
• Knowledge of procurement policies, processes and best practices.
• Experience engaging with senior stakeholders to define category strategy.

Responsibilities

• Engage with stakeholders to define the category strategy, plans and processes for sourcing goods and services.
• Maintain knowledge of business drivers and how they affect strategy.
• Act as SME on procurement policies and practices.
• Manage key sourcing activities including budgeting and risk management.
• Develop and maintain relationships with strategic suppliers and identify new partners.
• Ensure compliance with the sourcing process at every stage.
• Develop category strategies and sourcing pipelines.

Job Title: Procurement Specialist 5

Location: Columbus, OH

Pay Range: $47/hr. - $51/hr.

What's the Job? Summary:

The main function of a Procurement Specialist is to lead in determining and managing the sourcing strategy within a defined category or subcategories, identifying and engaging with senior stakeholders. The manager will oversee the sourcing process and materials/reports for management, as well as provide sourcing and procurement advice to business areas.

Job Responsibilities:

• Engage with stakeholders to understand business requirements and to define and implement the category strategy, plans and processes for sourcing goods and services.
• Maintain a detailed knowledge and understanding of the business drivers and have a comprehensive understanding of how they affect the business strategy.
• Act as a subject matter expert on procurement policies, processes and best practice.
• Manage key sourcing activities for business projects, ensuring timely delivery and budgeting with appropriate risk management.
• Develop and maintain long-term relationships with key existing strategic suppliers and identify potential new partners.
• Monitor compliance with the business' sourcing process, acting as an internal consultant for each stage in the process.
• Develop category or sub-category strategy, plans, sourcing pipelines.

Top Must-Have HARD Skills:

• Procurement: purchase order management, RFQ/RFP execution, cost analysis.
• Microsoft Tools: Word, Excel, etc.
• Data analysis: Power BI.
• 10+ years' experience purchasing.
• Data Center construction.
• Electrical equipment/materials and Mechanical equipment/materials with Long Lead Procurement experience - Items that have a long manufacturing, shipping, or delivery time and must be ordered well in advance.

Skills:

• Strong communication skills, interpersonal skills and negotiation skills
• Strong analytical and decision-making skills
• Understanding of procurement and sourcing techniques and supply chain management
• Experience in procurement or purchasing

Education/Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in business, Accounting, or related field
• 10+ years' experience

Is Revit or Bluebeam required? Bluebeam and P6 if they have P6 experience
